Pompadour

There is a reason for the name Pompadour. It was named after Madame de Pompadour, an 18th century French lover of art and literature and a gourmand. She was also the first woman in France to engage in serious baking. Madame Pompadour's footsteps, her beauty and elegance, and the lightness of her words fit perfectly with the image we had in mind when we founded the store: an upscale, elegant, European-style bakery. Thus, the name "Pompadour" was born. Pompadour. Although the name is now familiar and loved by many of our customers, in the early days of the company, there were many discussions before the name was decided upon, and it was a very difficult process, with more than 100 names being proposed. Whenever a customer calls us "Pompadour," we feel that it was worth all the hard work and effort.
